Abu Ubaida is the official media spokesman for the Martyr Izz al-Din al-Qassam Brigades, the military wing of the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas). Abu Ubaida is considered one of the first wanted people on the Israeli assassination lists, given that he is considered the main artery of psychological warfare and the media war imposed by Hamas. He was nicknamed Abu Ubaidah after the companion, the conqueror of Jerusalem, Abu Ubaidah bin Al-Jarrah during the reign of Caliph Omar bin Al-Khattab, may God be pleased with him. He was given many nicknames, including “The Masked One,” and he directly supervises the military information department in the Al-Qassam Brigades.
