When Fernanda Rocha and Flavia Vaz De Souza, leaders of our Special Education Parent Advisory Council, reached out to help to organize a motorcade to celebrate Autism Awareness, we knew we would work hard to make it a special event. But the event went beyond expectation.

Between families, kids, and support from the school department, police and city, we all came together to show that kids with autism have our love and understanding. I’m grateful for the work of Fernanda and Flavia, who also lead the support group The Gift of Being a Mother, along with our special education department, to assist our most vulnerable students and families, and could not be prouder to help them organize this first-ever initiative.

Thank you Superintendent Tahiliani and the Everett Police Department for supporting us to help make this dream come true.
